Pickleball Festival joins with PPL for dream day out!

SB Pickleball and Spicy Pickleball Academy are co-hosting a festival in Hampshire which will run alongside round five of the Franklin Premier Pickleball League.

The Pickleball Festival – which has only a handful of places remaining – will take place at Kingsley Tennis Centre (GU35 9NG) on Sunday 28 January.

The day will consist of unlimited pickleball play from 11am-5:45pm across six courts marked out on a tarmacadam tennis surface.

The format is fun and simple: players place their names on a court board – either as individuals, pairs or fours – and play in fun and/or competitive games, with players from other clubs/regions.

The festival will coincide with the fifth fixture of the Franklin Premier Pickleball League at the same venue, so anyone who fancies a quick break between matches can stroll down the hall and watch the pros competing in a rally scoring team format.

Festival co-organiser Sam Basford

Before the PPL match begins, there will be a fantastic opportunity for a pre-festival clinic led by some of the UK’s best players Thaddea Lock, Louis Laville and Freddie Powell.

Co-organiser Sam Basford told Pickleball52: “Participants can come along to the festival, meet other players and play as much pickleball as their hearts desire! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there and kickstarting what will hopefully be pickleball’s best year yet.”

Proceeds from the raffle at the event will go towards the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group – a cause close to Sam’s heart since he was diagnosed with the disease late last year.
